In 1979 Andy graduated from Leeds University with a Fuel and Energy degree and spent 10 years working for British Steel, where his main duties were implementation of furnace, combustion and energy saving projects and development of the works energy monitoring system.
In 1989 Andy joined BOC Gases in Sheffield as an Applications Engineer working in the metals and minerals industries, where his main role was evaluation of furnace performance and the implementation of oxygen related technology solutions. In 1995 Andy transferred to the BOC office in Thailand as Combustion Applications Manager - Glass for the North Pacific Region, and has worked with most of the worlds major glass manufacturers on furnace oxygen projects.
In 2000 Andy moved into energy consulting, working for ESD Bradshaw and Enviros, where he was Technical Director. Andy managed and delivered a wide range of projects both in the UK and abroad.
